Der 8. Tag (The 8. Day), 2018

Synchronic narrative, 2-channel, variable dimensions, HD, 16:9, color, sound, Loop 16’00
Actors: Christoph Luser, Thomas Loibl, Cornelius Schwalm

The setting with an abstract blue and red background lends this epilogue to “7 Days“ an unreal effect. Brought back to life in the beyond, the protagonist is dubious about his new surroundings. Where is he, in the Inferno or in Paradise? And who is sitting across from him, God or the devil? Both possibilities at the same time prove to be increasingly irritating. The lack of a metaphysical and moral order informs the prevailing mood of the synchronic narrative.

The dialogue takes up dialogue fragments from Alan Parker’s “Angel Heart” and Taylor Hackford’s “The Devil’s Advocate”.
